Xperia 1 III is better than the Motorola Edge (2022), having a score of 93.3 against 84.7. The Xperia 1 III is a just a little bit heavier device than the Motorola Edge (2022), but both of them are 0.32inches thick. These devices come with Android OS (operating system), but Xperia 1 III has the previous 11 version while Motorola Edge (2022) has Android 12 version.
The Sony Xperia 1 III features a little faster CPU than Motorola Edge (2022), and although they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Sony Xperia 1 III also has more RAM memory. Xperia 1 III counts with a much better looking display than Motorola Edge (2022), because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a much better 1644 x 3840px resolution and way more pixels per inch of screen.
Motorola Edge (2022) captures just a bit better photos and videos than Xperia 1 III, because although it has lower 60 fps video frame rates and a tinier camera aperture which is not so good for low-light photography and videos, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, the Motorola Edge (2022) also counts with a lot better resolution camera.
The Sony Xperia 1 III features a superior memory for applications and games than Motorola Edge (2022), because it has 256 GB internal storage and a SD extension slot that admits a maximum of 1 TB. The Motorola Edge (2022) counts with a bit superior battery lifetime than Xperia 1 III, because it has a 5000mAh battery capacity.
Although Xperia 1 III is a better device, it costs a lot more than Motorola Edge (2022), and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Motorola Edge (2022). So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy Xperia 1 III, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Motorola Edge (2022), letting go a couple specifications.
