Xperia 1 III has a global score of 93.3, which is better than the Motorola Edge (2024)'s general score of 78.5. Both phones in this comparison review come with Android OS (Operating System), but the Xperia 1 III has the older 11 version and Motorola Edge (2024) has Android 14 version. The Xperia 1 III body has the same thickness than Motorola Edge (2024), but it is a little heavier.

The Xperia 1 III has a very superior processor than Motorola Edge (2024), and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia 1 III also has a larger amount of RAM memory. Sony Xperia 1 III has a bit sharper display than Motorola Edge (2024), because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a way better 1644 x 3840 resolution and a much higher pixel quantity per inch of display.

The Xperia 1 III has a much greater storage capacity to install games and applications than Motorola Edge (2024), and although they both have equal internal storage capacity, the Xperia 1 III also has a SD memory card expansion slot that supports up to 1 TB. Xperia 1 III shoots a bit better pictures and videos than Motorola Edge (2024), because although it has a tinier sensor which gives a worse photo and video quality, a worse 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a back camera with much less mega-pixels resolution, it also counts with a bigger aperture.

Motorola Edge (2024) has just a bit better battery performance than Xperia 1 III, because it has an 11 percent more battery size.

Sony Xperia 1 III is a lot more expensive than the Motorola Edge (2024), but it's still a good choice, because you can get a much better phone for that extra money.
