Xperia 1 III has a global score of 93.3, which is much better than Nokia 8.3 5G's overall score of 80.5. Xperia 1 III's body is newer, somewhat lighter and just a little bit thinner than Nokia 8.3 5G. Both of these phones include the same Android 11 OS. Sony Xperia 1 III counts with a sharper display than Nokia 8.3 5G, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a much better amount of pixels per inch in the display and a lot higher resolution of 1644 x 3840.
Sony Xperia 1 III counts with a lot bigger memory for apps and games than Nokia 8.3 5G, because it has a SD extension slot that holds up to 1 TB and 256 GB internal memory capacity. Xperia 1 III has a bit better processor than Nokia 8.3 5G, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Xperia 1 III also has a higher amount of RAM memory.
The Xperia 1 III takes slightly better photos and videos than Nokia 8.3 5G, because although it has a lower (4K) video resolution and a way less megapixels back facing camera, it also counts with a much bigger camera sensor capturing way higher quality pictures and videos and a bigger camera aperture.
Nokia 8.3 5G's battery performance is very similar to the battery lifetime in Sony Xperia 1 III.
Although Sony Xperia 1 III is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Nokia 8.3 5G, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Nokia 8.3 5G. If you prefer to save some money, you can buy Nokia 8.3 5G, letting go a few features and specs, but you will get the most out of your budget.
