Comparison review
The Xperia 1 III is much better than the Samsung Galaxy A31, getting a score of 93.3 against 81.3. The Xperia 1 III is a newer and a bit thinner device than the Samsung Galaxy A31, but it's also a bit heavier. Both of these devices come with Android OS, but Xperia 1 III has 11 version and Samsung Galaxy A31 has Android 10, so it counts with a couple nice extra features and performance optimizations.
Xperia 1 III features a sharper display than Samsung Galaxy A31, because it has a little larger screen, a much higher screen density and a lot better 1644 x 3840 resolution. Xperia 1 III has just a little better processing power than Samsung Galaxy A31, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia 1 III also has a greater amount of RAM.
The Sony Xperia 1 III and the Galaxy A31 both feature incredibly similar cameras, because although the Galaxy A31 has lower video frame rate, a smaller aperture which is not so good for shooting photos and video in poorly lited environments and a smaller sensor offering a worse image quality, and they both have the same video resolution, it also counts with a back camera with a way higher resolution.
Xperia 1 III counts with a lot bigger storage capacity for apps and games than Samsung Galaxy A31, because it has a slot for external memory cards that allows a maximum of 1 TB and 256 GB internal memory. The Galaxy A31 counts with just a little bit longer battery lifetime than Xperia 1 III, because it has an 11 percent greater battery capacity.
