Sony Xperia 1 III has a global score of 93.3, which is a little bit better than Samsung Galaxy A51 5G's 90.8 global score. These devices include the same Android 11 OS. The Sony Xperia 1 III design weights the same than the Samsung Galaxy A51 5G, but it's a little thinner. Xperia 1 III features a bit better processor than Galaxy A51 5G, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the Xperia 1 III also has a greater amount of RAM.
The Xperia 1 III features a much better screen than Samsung Galaxy A51 5G, and although they both have a same size screen, the Xperia 1 III also has way more pixels per display inch and a much higher 1644 x 3840px resolution. Xperia 1 III features much more memory to install games and applications than Samsung Galaxy A51 5G, because it has more internal memory capacity and a slot for SD memory cards that allows up to 1 TB.
The Galaxy A51 5G takes clearer pictures and videos than Xperia 1 III, because although it has worse 30 frames per second video frame rates, a smaller back camera sensor taking lower quality videos and images and a smaller camera aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the Galaxy A51 5G also counts with a back camera with a much higher 48 MP resolution.
The Galaxy A51 5G and Xperia 1 III have similar battery performance.
Although Sony Xperia 1 III is a better device, it is way more expensive than Galaxy A51 5G, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy A51 5G. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Sony Xperia 1 III, otherwise you can save some dollars and get the Galaxy A51 5G, resigning some features and specifications.
