Comparison review
Samsung Galaxy Fold is slightly better than the Xperia 1 III, with a 97.6 score against 93.3. Both phones in this review include Android operating system, but the Samsung Galaxy Fold has the newer 9.0 Pie version and Xperia 1 III has Android 11 version. Although Samsung Galaxy Fold is older and extremely heavier than the Xperia 1 III, it's construction is still thinner.
The Sony Xperia 1 III and the Samsung Galaxy Fold have extremely similar CPUs, they have 12 GB of RAM and 8 cores. The Xperia 1 III features a sharper display than Samsung Galaxy Fold, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a better resolution of 1644 x 3840 pixels and a way greater pixel number per screen inch.
Sony Xperia 1 III features a little bit better memory capacity for applications and games than Galaxy Fold, because although it has 0 less internal storage capacity, it also counts with a SD extension slot that allows up to 1 TB. Xperia 1 III counts with just a little bit longer battery life than Galaxy Fold, because it has a 4500mAh battery capacity against 4380mAh.
The Sony Xperia 1 III counts with a little bit better camera than Galaxy Fold, because although it has a smaller camera aperture, and they both have a 12 MP resolution camera and the same (4K) video quality, the Sony Xperia 1 III also counts with a lot bigger back-facing camera sensor which offers a much better photo and video quality and faster 120 fps video frame rates.
Although Galaxy Fold is a better device, it is way more expensive than Xperia 1 III, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Xperia 1 III. If you want to save some money, you can buy Xperia 1 III, and give up a couple features, but you will get the most with your savings.
