Xperia 1 III has a much greater memory to store more apps and games than Galaxy Note 3, because it has a SD memory slot that admits a maximum of 1 TB and more internal storage capacity. The Xperia 1 III takes much better photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Note 3, because although it has a lower 12 mega pixels resolution back camera and a lower 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, it also counts with a lot bigger camera aperture to take better captures in low light situations and a lot larger back camera sensor taking much higher quality videos and pictures.
Xperia 1 III counts with a much longer battery performance than Samsung Galaxy Note 3, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity instead of 3200mAh.
Although Xperia 1 III is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Galaxy Note 3, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy Note 3. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy Xperia 1 III, but if you don't you can save some money and buy the Galaxy Note 3, letting go some features and specs.
