Comparison review
Xperia 1 III has a global score of 93.3, which is much better than Galaxy S8's 81.7 score. Xperia 1 III's construction is noticeably newer than Galaxy S8's, but it's somewhat heavier and a little thicker. Sony Xperia 1 III counts with a bit better looking screen than Galaxy S8, because it has a bit bigger screen, a higher 1644 x 3840 resolution and a little bit better count of pixels per display inch.
Xperia 1 III features a little faster processing unit than Samsung Galaxy S8, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia 1 III also has more RAM. The Xperia 1 III features a better camera than Galaxy S8, and although they both have a F1.7 aperture, the same video definition and a back facing camera with a 12 megapixels resolution, the Xperia 1 III also has higher video frame rates and a much larger back-facing camera sensor shooting lot higher quality photographs.
The Xperia 1 III counts with a much better storage capacity to install games and applications than Galaxy S8, because it has a SD extension slot that admits up to 1 TB and 256 GB internal storage capacity. Xperia 1 III has a much longer battery lifetime than Galaxy S8, because it has a 4500mAh battery capacity instead of 3000mAh.
Although Sony Xperia 1 III is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Galaxy S8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Galaxy S8. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Sony Xperia 1 III, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Galaxy S8, resigning a couple features and specs.
