Comparison review
The Xperia 1 III is better than Galaxy S9, having a 93.3 score against 83.3. Even though Xperia 1 III is somewhat heavier than the Galaxy S9, it's just a little bit thinner and noticeably newer. The Xperia 1 III counts with a little sharper display than Samsung Galaxy S9, because it has a little larger display, a higher resolution of 1644 x 3840 and a little better count of pixels in each inch of screen.
Xperia 1 III features a much bigger memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy S9, because it has 192 GB more internal memory capacity and a SD memory card expansion slot that holds up to 1 TB. The Sony Xperia 1 III counts with a little faster CPU than Samsung Galaxy S9, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Sony Xperia 1 III also has a larger amount of RAM.
The Xperia 1 III has a very superior battery duration than Galaxy S9, because it has a 4500mAh battery capacity instead of 3000mAh. Sony Xperia 1 III takes clearer videos and photos than Galaxy S9, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not so good for low light images and video, and they both have a 12 megapixels back-facing camera and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the Sony Xperia 1 III also counts with a way larger back camera sensor which provides a way better image and video quality and higher 120 fps video frame rate.
Although Xperia 1 III is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Galaxy S9, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy S9. If you are trying to save some money, you can buy the Galaxy S9, and give up a few specs and features, but you will get the most with your budget.
