The Xperia 1 III is better than Sony Xperia XZ Premium, getting a score of 93.3 against 79.8. Even though the Xperia 1 III is just a little thicker than Sony Xperia XZ Premium, it's just a little lighter and a lot newer. Xperia XZ Premium has a much better display than Sony Xperia 1 III, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a quite better resolution of 2160 x 3840px and a little greater pixels count per inch in the screen.
The Sony Xperia 1 III counts with just a bit better hardware performance than Xperia XZ Premium, and although they both have 8 processing cores, the Sony Xperia 1 III also has more RAM memory.
