Comparison review
The Xperia 1 III has a score of 93.3, which is much better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro's global score of 81.1. These phones have Android OS, but Xperia 1 III has a newer 11 version and Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro has Android 10, so it gives some nice extra features. Xperia 1 III's body is newer, a little thinner and somewhat lighter than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro.
Sony Xperia 1 III features a sharper screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a much better resolution of 1644 x 3840px and a much better quantity of pixels per inch of display. The Sony Xperia 1 III has a way bigger memory for apps and games than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, because it has a slot for SD memory cards that supports up to 1 TB and 192 GB more internal memory.
Xperia 1 III features just a bit better processing power than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, and although they both have 8 processing cores, the Xperia 1 III also has more RAM. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro features a little longer battery performance than Xperia 1 III, because it has a 5020mAh battery capacity instead of 4500mAh.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro captures much better photographs and videos than Xperia 1 III, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not nice for shooting images in low-light environments and worse 30 fps video frame rates, and they both have the same back-facing camera sensor size and the same (4K) video quality, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro also counts with a way more mega-pixels back-facing camera.
Although Xperia 1 III is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, and give up a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most with your savings.
