Xperia 1 VI is a little bit better than the Galaxy Note 5, getting a score of 83.2 against 79.3. These phones use Android OS (Operating System), but the Xperia 1 VI has newer 14 version and Galaxy Note 5 has Android 5.1. The Xperia 1 VI is a noticeably lighter and noticeably thinner device than Galaxy Note 5.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 features a much better display than Sony Xperia 1 VI, although it has a little smaller display, a quite worse screen density and a way worse 2560 x 1440 resolution. Xperia 1 VI counts with a very superior battery lifetime than Galaxy Note 5, because it has 5000mAh of battery capacity. Xperia 1 VI takes much better videos and photos than Galaxy Note 5, and although they both have the same video resolution and the same diafragm aperture, the Xperia 1 VI also has a camera with lot more MP, a much larger back camera sensor taking lot higher quality photographs and faster 120 fps video frame rates.
