The Xperia 1 is a little bit better than Asus ROG Phone 8, getting an 82.6 score against 79.5. Xperia 1's design is lighter and just a little thinner than the Asus ROG Phone 8, even though it was released 5 years before. Asus ROG Phone 8 and Xperia 1 both feature incredibly similar screens, because although the Asus ROG Phone 8 has a lot lesser pixels per inch of display and a way lower resolution of 1080 x 2400, it also counts with a little bit bigger display and a really brighter display.
The Xperia 1 has a much more powerful processing unit than Asus ROG Phone 8, although it has lesser RAM, they both have the same number of cores. The Asus ROG Phone 8 shoots a lot better videos and photos than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not favorable for shooting photographs and videos in low light situations, it also counts with a camera in the back with a lot better resolution, a way better video quality and a much larger sensor capturing lot higher quality photographs and videos.
Sony Xperia 1 has a slightly bigger memory capacity to store more games and applications than Asus ROG Phone 8, because although it has less internal memory capacity, it also counts with a SD extension slot that supports a maximum of 512 GB. Asus ROG Phone 8 features a way better battery lifetime than Sony Xperia 1, because it has a 5500mAh battery size instead of 3330mAh.
