Asus ZenFone 7 has an overall score of 83.9, which is a little bit better than Xperia 1's overall score of 82.6. The Asus ZenFone 7 is a newer phone than the Xperia 1, but it is noticeably heavier and thicker. The Sony Xperia 1 counts with a better looking display than Asus ZenFone 7, because although it has a bit smaller screen and much more opaque display, it also counts with a lot greater screen density and a lot higher resolution of 1644 x 3840px.

The Asus ZenFone 7 takes way better photographs and videos than Xperia 1, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is not recommended for low-light captures and video, it also counts with a lot better video quality, a lot bigger back-facing camera sensor capturing more light and vivid colors and a back-facing camera with lot more mega-pixels.
Asus ZenFone 7 has a much better battery lifetime than Xperia 1, because it has 5000mAh of battery capacity instead of 3330mAh.
