Comparison review

The Xperia 1 has a general score of 82.6, which is a bit better than the Google Pixel 3a's 78.8 overall score. The Xperia 1 is a somewhat heavier phone than the Google Pixel 3a, but both of them are equally thin. The Xperia 1 has a better looking display than Google Pixel 3a, because it has a bigger screen, a greater display pixel density and a lot better 1644 x 3840 resolution.

Sony Xperia 1 counts with a much better memory capacity to store more games and applications than Google Pixel 3a, because it has 64 GB more internal memory capacity and an external memory slot that supports a maximum of 512 GB. Xperia 1 has a little faster processing unit than Google Pixel 3a, and although they both have 8 cores, the Xperia 1 also has a larger amount of RAM.

The Sony Xperia 1 and the Google Pixel 3a have very similar cameras, because although the Google Pixel 3a has a tinier diafragm aperture which is worse for shooting images or videos in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, it also counts with a back facing camera with more mega-pixels, a larger sensor providing a higher image quality and higher 30 frames per second video frame rate.

The Xperia 1 counts with just a bit longer battery duration than Google Pixel 3a, because it has 3330mAh of battery capacity instead of 3000mAh.

Although Sony Xperia 1 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Google Pixel 3a, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Google Pixel 3a. If you are trying to save some money, you can get Google Pixel 3a, letting go a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most with your budget.
