Comparison review

Sony Xperia 1 has an overall score of 82.6, which is a little bit better than Google Pixel 4's 81.9 global score. The Sony Xperia 1 design has the same thickness than the Google Pixel 4, but it's just a little bit heavier. The Xperia 1 counts with a sharper display than Google Pixel 4, because it has a quite larger screen, a much higher resolution of 1644 x 3840 pixels and a higher number of pixels per display inch.

The Xperia 1 counts with a much bigger storage to install games and applications than Google Pixel 4, because it has an external memory card slot that allows a maximum of 512 GB and 64 GB more internal memory. The Sony Xperia 1 and the Google Pixel 4 both have extremely similar processing units, both of them have the same number of cores and the same RAM memory amount.

Google Pixel 4 and Xperia 1 have similar cameras, because although the Google Pixel 4 has a smaller diafragm aperture which is worse for capturing pictures or video in low light situations, and they both have the same video definition, it also counts with faster video frame rate, a bigger back-facing camera sensor taking better quality photos and videos and a more mega pixels camera in the back.

Xperia 1 features improved battery life than Google Pixel 4, because it has 3330mAh of battery capacity.

Although Xperia 1 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Google Pixel 4, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Google Pixel 4. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Xperia 1, else you can save a couple dollars and get the Google Pixel 4, resigning some features and specifications.
