Comparison review

The Sony Xperia 1 is a little bit better than HTC One M9, having a global score of 82.6 against 77.7. Even though Sony Xperia 1 is heavier than HTC One M9, it's thinner and also noticeably newer. The HTC One M9 features a bit faster CPU than Xperia 1, because although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, and they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the HTC One M9 also counts with a 64 bits processing unit and an additional graphics co-processor.

The Sony Xperia 1 has just a bit better screen than HTC One M9, because it has a lot higher 1644 x 3840 resolution, a better pixels density and a larger display. The HTC One M9 features a slightly better camera than Xperia 1, because although it has a way smaller diafragm aperture which is not recommended for low light captures, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the HTC One M9 also counts with a camera in the back with a much better 20 MP resolution, higher 30 frames per second video frame rates and a bigger sensor.

Xperia 1 has a lot bigger storage to install applications and games than HTC One M9, because it has 128 GB internal memory capacity and a slot for SD memory cards that holds a maximum of 512 GB. The Xperia 1 counts with improved battery lifetime than HTC One M9, because it has a 3330mAh battery capacity instead of 2840mAh.

Although Sony Xperia 1 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the HTC One M9, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as HTC One M9. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Sony Xperia 1, else you can save some dollars and get the HTC One M9, letting go a couple specs and features.
