Comparison review
Sony Xperia 1 has a score of 82.6, which is a little bit better than Huawei Mate 20's global score of 79.5. The Sony Xperia 1 is a just a little bit lighter and a bit thinner device than Huawei Mate 20, even when both were only released with a couple of months difference. The Xperia 1 has just a bit better performance than Huawei Mate 20, and although they both have 8 processing cores, the Xperia 1 also has more RAM memory.
Xperia 1 counts with a bit sharper screen than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has much lower brightness, and they both have a screen of the same size, the Xperia 1 also counts with a way better display pixel density and a lot higher resolution of 1644 x 3840. Huawei Mate 20 captures just a bit better photographs and videos than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not favorable for capturing photos in low-light situations, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality and a same resolution camera, the Huawei Mate 20 also counts with better video frame rate and a larger camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors.
Xperia 1 has a superior storage capacity for applications and games than Huawei Mate 20, and although they both have exactly the same 128 GB internal memory, the Xperia 1 also has an external memory card slot that holds up to 512 GB. Huawei Mate 20 counts with improved battery life than Sony Xperia 1, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity instead of 3330mAh.
Although Sony Xperia 1 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Huawei Mate 20, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Huawei Mate 20. If you want to save a few dollars, you can buy the Huawei Mate 20, letting go a few features and specifications, but you will get the most with your savings.
