The Xperia 1 has a global score of 82.6, which is slightly better than the Huawei P20 Pro's 81.4 overall score. The Xperia 1 construction is newer and a little lighter than the Huawei P20 Pro's, although it is a little bit thicker. The Sony Xperia 1 counts with a bit better processor than Huawei P20 Pro. They have a 6 GB RAM and 8 cores.
The Xperia 1 features a better display than Huawei P20 Pro, because it has a much higher 1644 x 3840 resolution, a lot better display density and a little bigger screen. The Xperia 1 features a lot bigger memory to install applications and games than Huawei P20 Pro, and although they both have the same internal memory capacity, the Xperia 1 also has a slot for external memory cards that holds up to 512 GB.
The Huawei P20 Pro counts with longer battery life than Sony Xperia 1, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity instead of 3330mAh. The Huawei P20 Pro features a much better camera than Xperia 1, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not good for low light images, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition, the Huawei P20 Pro also counts with a back facing camera with a much better 40 mega-pixels resolution, higher 30 fps video frame rates and a way bigger sensor capturing more light and vivid colors.
Although Xperia 1 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Huawei P20 Pro, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Huawei P20 Pro. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can buy Huawei P20 Pro, giving up a few specs and features, but you'll get the most out of your money.
