Comparison review

Xperia 1 is a little bit better than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, getting a overall score of 82.6 against 77.4. The Xperia 1 body is newer, but somewhat heavier and extremely thicker than Motorola Moto Z2 Play. The Sony Xperia 1 counts with a bit more powerful processor than Moto Z2 Play, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Sony Xperia 1 also has a larger amount of RAM.

Sony Xperia 1 features a much better looking display than Moto Z2 Play, because it has a much greater amount of pixels per screen inch, a much better resolution of 1644 x 3840 and a bigger screen. The Moto Z2 Play features just a bit bigger storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has just 64 GB internal storage, it also counts with a SD extension slot that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB.

The Xperia 1 shoots slightly better photographs and videos than Moto Z2 Play, because although it has worse 24 frames per second video frame rates, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition and a back-facing camera with a 12 mega pixels, the Xperia 1 also counts with a larger diafragm aperture to take better low-light images.

The Sony Xperia 1 counts with just a little bit longer battery duration than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, because it has an 11% more battery size.

Although Sony Xperia 1 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Motorola Moto Z2 Play, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Motorola Moto Z2 Play. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Sony Xperia 1, else you can save some money and buy the Motorola Moto Z2 Play, letting go some features and specs.
