Sony Xperia 1 is a bit better than Motorola One Zoom, with a global score of 82.6 against 80. The Sony Xperia 1 is a just a little bit thinner and just a little lighter phone than Motorola One Zoom, even when they were only released 3 months apart. Xperia 1 has a bit better performance than Motorola One Zoom, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the Xperia 1 also has a larger amount of RAM.

The Sony Xperia 1 counts with a more vivid screen than Motorola One Zoom, because it has a way higher resolution of 1644 x 3840 pixels, a lot more pixels per inch in the display and a quite bigger screen. Motorola One Zoom captures much clearer photos and videos than Xperia 1, because although it has a smaller aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Motorola One Zoom also counts with a lot bigger camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors, a back facing camera with a much higher 48 mega-pixels resolution and higher 30 fps video frame rates.

Xperia 1 counts with more memory capacity for apps and games than Motorola One Zoom, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage, the Xperia 1 also has a SD card slot that admits up to 512 GB. Motorola One Zoom counts with longer battery life than Xperia 1, because it has a 20% larger battery capacity.

Although Xperia 1 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Motorola One Zoom, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Motorola One Zoom. If you are trying to save some money, you can buy the Motorola One Zoom, and give up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your money.
