Comparison review

The Sony Xperia 1 has an overall score of 82.6, which is slightly better than OnePlus 8 Pro's score of 77.2. Sony Xperia 1 is an older cellphone than OnePlus 8 Pro, but Sony could make it just a little thinner and somewhat lighter. The OnePlus 8 Pro has just a bit better looking display than Xperia 1, because although it has a bit lower resolution of 1440 x 3168px and a quite lower pixel density, it also counts with a little larger screen and a lot brighter screen.

The Xperia 1 has a very superior storage capacity to install games and applications than OnePlus 8 Pro, and although they both have exactly the same 128 GB internal memory capacity, the Xperia 1 also has an external memory slot that supports up to 512 GB. The OnePlus 8 Pro's processing unit is just as good as the CPU in Xperia 1, and although the OnePlus 8 Pro has more RAM, they both have the same number of cores.

The OnePlus 8 Pro captures greater photographs and videos than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not so good for low-light photography and video, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the OnePlus 8 Pro also counts with higher video frame rate, a much larger sensor taking way higher quality videos and photos and a back facing camera with a much better 48 megapixels resolution.

The OnePlus 8 Pro counts with a really longer battery duration than Sony Xperia 1, because it has 4510mAh of battery capacity instead of 3330mAh.

The Sony Xperia 1 costs more than OnePlus 8 Pro, but you can get a better phone for that extra money.
