Comparison review
Xperia 1 is just a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017), having a global score of 82.6 against 75.8. Even though Xperia 1 is noticeably newer than the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017), it is a little bit thicker and heavier. Xperia 1 features a sharper display than Galaxy A5 (2017), because it has a much better 1644 x 3840 resolution, a much greater display pixels density and a bigger display.
The Sony Xperia 1 features just a little better hardware performance than Galaxy A5 (2017), and although they both have 8 cores, the Sony Xperia 1 also has a greater amount of RAM. The Sony Xperia 1 features a lot bigger storage for applications and games than Galaxy A5 (2017), because it has an external SD slot that holds a maximum of 512 GB and more internal memory capacity.
The Xperia 1 captures a little bit better photographs and videos than Galaxy A5 (2017), because although it has a much less megapixels camera in the back, it also counts with a larger camera aperture to capture better low light images and video and a way higher (4K) video quality. Sony Xperia 1 features just a little better battery life than Galaxy A5 (2017), because it has an 11 percent greater battery size.
