Comparison review
Galaxy Fold is much better than the Sony Xperia 1, having a general score of 97.6 against 82.6. Galaxy Fold's body is heavier but thinner than Sony Xperia 1, and they were only released with a couple of months difference. Galaxy Fold has a little better hardware performance than Sony Xperia 1, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Galaxy Fold also has a greater amount of RAM memory.
The Xperia 1 features a more vivid display than Samsung Galaxy Fold, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a much greater pixels quantity per inch in the screen and a better resolution of 1644 x 3840px. Galaxy Fold captures a bit better photographs and videos than Xperia 1, and although they both have the same video quality and a 12 mega pixels resolution back camera, the Galaxy Fold also has a larger aperture for better low-light photography and videos, higher video frame rates and a bigger back-facing camera sensor which provides a better image and video quality.
The Galaxy Fold has a much bigger memory to install applications and games than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 512 GB internal memory capacity. The Samsung Galaxy Fold has longer battery life than Sony Xperia 1, because it has a 4380mAh battery size against 3330mAh.
The Galaxy Fold costs a lot more money than the Xperia 1, but you can get a better phone for that few more dollars.
