Sony Xperia 1 is just a bit better than the Galaxy Note 3, having an 82.6 score against 81.2. The Sony Xperia 1 body is noticeably newer and a little thinner, but also a little bit heavier than Galaxy Note 3. Xperia 1 counts with a little more vivid screen than Galaxy Note 3, because it has a lot higher 1644 x 3840 resolution, a bit larger screen and a lot better screen density.

The Xperia 1 features a much greater storage capacity for games and applications than Galaxy Note 3, because it has an external SD slot that admits up to 512 GB and 64 GB more internal memory. Sony Xperia 1 features a bit more powerful processor than Samsung Galaxy Note 3, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processing unit, it also counts with more RAM memory and a greater number of cores.

The Xperia 1 features a little better battery life than Samsung Galaxy Note 3, because it has 3330mAh of battery capacity. Sony Xperia 1 counts with a bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy Note 3, because although it has a camera with a worse resolution and a worse (4K) video quality, it also counts with a way larger camera aperture for better images in low light situations and a larger back-facing camera sensor capturing higher quality pictures.

Although Xperia 1 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Xperia 1, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, giving up a couple specs and features.
