Comparison review

The Galaxy Note8 is slightly better than Sony Xperia 1, having an 83 score against 82.6. Even though Galaxy Note8 is a better phone than Sony Xperia 1, we must tell that it is also older, just a little bit heavier and a little thicker. The Xperia 1 counts with a bit more vivid screen than Galaxy Note8, because it has a little bit greater pixel count per inch of display, a better 1644 x 3840 pixels resolution and a bit bigger display.

Xperia 1 has a lot bigger memory capacity for games and applications than Galaxy Note8, because it has a SD memory slot that supports a maximum of 512 GB and 128 GB internal memory. The Xperia 1 counts with just a little better hardware performance than Galaxy Note8. Both have 8 cores and a 6 GB RAM memory.

Samsung Galaxy Note8 and Sony Xperia 1 feature quite similar batteries, although the Samsung Galaxy Note8 has 3300mAh of battery capacity. Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a camera that is very similar to the Xperia 1 one, because although the Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a smaller camera aperture which is not nice for shooting photographs and videos in low light environments, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution and a camera with a 12 megapixels resolution, it also counts with faster 30 frames per second video frame rate and a bigger sensor providing a better image quality.

Even being the best phone between the ones we are comparing, the Galaxy Note8 is also a bargain compared to the other devices, which makes buying this phone an easy decision.
