Comparison review

The Sony Xperia 1 is just a bit better than Galaxy S5 Plus, having a general score of 82.6 against 78.1. Sony Xperia 1's construction has the same thickness than the Galaxy S5 Plus, but it is somewhat heavier. Xperia 1 counts with a little more vivid display than Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus, because it has a bigger screen, a better screen density and a much higher 1644 x 3840 resolution.

The Xperia 1 has a much bigger storage capacity for apps and games than Galaxy S5 Plus, because it has an external memory card slot that holds up to 512 GB and 128 GB internal memory capacity. The Sony Xperia 1 features a bit superior processing unit than Galaxy S5 Plus, because although it has doesn't have a graphics processing unit, it also counts with a larger number of faster cores and 4 GB more RAM memory.

Sony Xperia 1 counts with superior battery performance than Galaxy S5 Plus, because it has 3330mAh of battery capacity. Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus's camera is just as good as the Xperia 1 one, because although the Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus has a way smaller camera aperture which is not good for low-light captures, and they both have a 0.38 inches back camera sensor and the same video definition, it also counts with faster video frame rates and a back facing camera with a way better resolution.

Although Xperia 1 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Galaxy S5 Plus, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy S5 Plus. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy Xperia 1, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and get the Galaxy S5 Plus, giving up a couple specifications.
