Comparison review

The Xperia 1 is slightly better than Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport, having an 82.6 score against 77.8. Even though Xperia 1 is somewhat heavier than the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport, it's a bit thinner and also a lot newer. Xperia 1 counts with just a bit better processing power than Galaxy S5 Sport, because although it has doesn't have a graphics processing unit, it also counts with 4 GB more RAM and a greater number of faster cores.

Sony Xperia 1 counts with a little bit better display than Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport, because it has a bigger screen, a higher pixels density and a way higher 1644 x 3840 resolution. The Sony Xperia 1 features a way bigger memory capacity to install applications and games than Galaxy S5 Sport, because it has a slot for SD memory cards that supports a maximum of 512 GB and 128 GB internal memory.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport's camera is just as good as the Xperia 1 one, because although the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport has a way smaller diafragm aperture which is not recommended for shooting images and/or video in low-light environments, and they both have a 0.38 inches sensor and the same video definition, it also counts with a lot better 16 mega-pixels resolution back facing camera and higher video frame rate.

Xperia 1 counts with greater battery life than Galaxy S5 Sport, because it has 3330mAh of battery capacity instead of 2800mAh.

Although Xperia 1 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport. If you prefer to save some money, you can buy Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport, and give up a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most with your money.
