Galaxy S6 Edge has a score of 85.7, which is a little bit better than the Xperia 1's 82.6 general score. Galaxy S6 Edge is an much older phone than the Xperia 1, but Samsung was able to build it much lighter and thinner anyway. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has a bit better display than Xperia 1, although it has a way worse 2560 x 1440px resolution, a much smaller screen and a just a little lower screen pixels density.
The Galaxy S6 Edge features a little bit better processing power than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has lesser RAM, and they both have the same number of cores, the Galaxy S6 Edge also counts with an extra GPU and a 64-bit CPU. Sony Xperia 1 features a very superior memory capacity for apps and games than Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, and although they both have the same internal storage, the Sony Xperia 1 also has a SD extension slot that holds up to 512 GB.
The Xperia 1 shoots much better photos and videos than Galaxy S6 Edge, because although it has a lower 3840x2160 video definition and a much lower 12 MP resolution back-facing camera, and they both have a same size back-facing camera sensor, the Xperia 1 also counts with a bigger diafragm aperture.
Sony Xperia 1 counts with better battery performance than Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, because it has a 28% bigger battery capacity.
Galaxy S6 Edge is a little more expensive than Sony Xperia 1, but you can get a better phone for that extra money.
