Sony Xperia 1 is a little bit better than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, getting a score of 82.6 against 79.8. The Sony Xperia 1 body is noticeably newer and a little bit lighter, but just a little bit thicker than the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium. Sony Xperia 1 has a bit more powerful processing unit than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, because although it has doesn't have an additional GPU, and they both have 8 CPU cores, the Sony Xperia 1 also counts with more RAM memory.

Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a more vivid screen than Xperia 1, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a slightly higher 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution and a just a bit more pixels per inch of display. The Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a little bit better camera than Xperia 1, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Xperia Z5 Premium also counts with a way better 23 mega pixels resolution back-facing camera, faster 30 fps video frame rates and a bigger back-facing camera sensor shooting better quality pictures and videos.

Xperia 1 has a much better memory capacity to store more games and applications than Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has an external memory card slot that supports up to 512 GB and 128 GB internal memory. The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has a little longer battery performance than Xperia 1, because it has a 3430mAh battery size against 3330mAh.

Although Xperia 1 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Sony Xperia Z5 Premium. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Xperia 1, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, resigning some specs and features.
