Comparison review
Sony Xperia 1 is slightly better than the Xiaomi Mi 6, having an 82.6 score against 76.5. Although the Sony Xperia 1 is much newer than the Xiaomi Mi 6, it is just a little heavier and a little thicker. Sony Xperia 1 counts with just a bit better looking display than Xiaomi Mi 6, because although it has way less brightness, it also counts with a larger display, a lot higher resolution of 1644 x 3840 pixels and much more pixels per screen inch.
Xperia 1 features a bit superior CPU than Xiaomi Mi 6. Both have the same RAM memory amount and the same number of cores. Xperia 1 counts with a much bigger storage for apps and games than Xiaomi Mi 6, and although they both have the same internal memory capacity, the Xperia 1 also has a SD card slot that holds a maximum of 512 GB.
Xiaomi Mi 6 has a bit longer battery lifetime than Xperia 1, because it has a 1% larger battery size. Sony Xperia 1 takes clearer videos and photos than Xiaomi Mi 6, because although it has slower video frame rate, and they both have the same resolution camera and the same (4K) video quality, the Sony Xperia 1 also counts with a larger diafragm aperture for better captures and videos in poorly lited environments and a bigger sensor which offers a higher photo and video quality.
Although Sony Xperia 1 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Xiaomi Mi 6, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Xiaomi Mi 6. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy Xiaomi Mi 6, letting go a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most with your money.
