The Xperia 1 is just a bit better than the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, with an 82.6 score against 77.7. The Xperia 1 body is just a little thicker and just a little heavier than Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite. Sony Xperia 1 features a sharper screen than Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, because it has a little larger screen, a lot higher screen pixel density and a way higher 1644 x 3840 resolution.
Xperia 1 has a bit superior CPU than Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite. Both have a Octa-Core processor and the same RAM memory amount. Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite shoots clearer photographs and videos than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has a smaller aperture which is worse for capturing photos in low-light situations, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition and a camera in the back with a 12 MP, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite also counts with higher 30 frames per second video frame rate and a bigger sensor taking better quality videos and pictures.
Sony Xperia 1 features a much greater memory to store more apps and games than Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, and although they both have the same internal memory, the Sony Xperia 1 also has an external memory card slot that holds up to 512 GB. The Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite has just a little better battery duration than Xperia 1, because it has a 1% bigger battery size.
