Comparison review
The Xiaomi Mi 9 has a score of 83.2, which is a bit better than Xperia 1's global score of 82.6. Xiaomi Mi 9's construction is just a little bit thinner and a bit lighter than the Xperia 1, even when both were released with only a couple of months difference. Xiaomi Mi 9's CPU is just as good as the Sony Xperia 1 one, both of them have 6 GB of RAM and the same number of cores.
Sony Xperia 1 counts with a much better display than Xiaomi Mi 9, because although it has way less brightness, it also counts with a bit bigger screen, a much better resolution of 1644 x 3840px and much more pixels per inch in the screen. The Xperia 1 has much more storage to install applications and games than Xiaomi Mi 9, and although they both have exactly the same 128 GB internal storage, the Xperia 1 also has a slot for an external memory card that admits up to 512 GB.
Xiaomi Mi 9 shoots a lot better pictures and videos than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has a tinier aperture, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the Xiaomi Mi 9 also counts with a camera with lot more megapixels, higher 60 frames per second video frame rates and a way larger back camera sensor capturing more light and vivid colors.
Xiaomi Mi 9's battery duration is very similar to the battery lifetime in Xperia 1, although the Xiaomi Mi 9 has a 1 percent smaller battery size.
