Comparison review
Xperia 1 has a score of 82.6, which is a little bit better than Xiaomi Mi Note 2's 76 global score. The Xperia 1 is a way newer device than the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, but it's just a bit heavier and a bit thicker. Sony Xperia 1 features a much sharper screen than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, because it has a lot higher resolution of 1644 x 3840px, a bit bigger display and a much greater pixels number per screen inch.
Sony Xperia 1 features a superior memory capacity for applications and games than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, and although they both have exactly the same 128 GB internal storage, the Sony Xperia 1 also has an external memory slot that supports a maximum of 512 GB. The Xperia 1 counts with a little better processing power than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, and although they both have the same RAM amount, the Xperia 1 also has a larger number of cores (and also faster).
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 counts with better battery life than Xperia 1, because it has a 4070mAh battery size against 3330mAh. The Sony Xperia 1 captures better pictures and videos than Xiaomi Mi Note 2, because although it has a back-facing camera with a way worse resolution and a lower 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, and they both have the same camera sensor size, the Sony Xperia 1 also counts with a larger aperture for better photography and videos in low-light situations.
Although Xperia 1 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Mi Note 2. If you want to save some money, you can buy Xiaomi Mi Note 2, and give up a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your budget.
