Comparison review
Xperia 1 is a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, with a score of 82.6 against 81.1. Xperia 1's design is somewhat lighter and just a bit thinner than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, despite of the fact that it was released only 11 months before. Xperia 1 has a bit superior CPU than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro. Both of them have a 6 GB RAM and a Octa-Core CPU.
The Xperia 1 counts with a better looking screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a way higher pixel density and a way better 1644 x 3840 resolution. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro has a lot better camera than Xperia 1, because although it has a smaller aperture which is worse for taking photographs in low-light environments, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro also counts with a lot better resolution camera in the back, higher 30 fps video frame rates and a lot bigger sensor.
The Sony Xperia 1 counts with a much bigger memory capacity for games and applications than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, and although they both have a SD memory slot that allows up to 512 GB, the Sony Xperia 1 also has 128 GB internal storage capacity. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro has a really longer battery life than Xperia 1, because it has a 51% greater battery size.
Although Sony Xperia 1 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Sony Xperia 1, else you can save some money and buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, resigning a couple features and specifications.
