Comparison review
The iPhone 12 Pro Max is just a bit better than the Xperia 5 II, having a global score of 93.2 against 87.2. Even though the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the Xperia 5 II were released only 1 months apart, the iPhone 12 Pro Max construction is a little bit thinner but also way heavier. IPhone 12 Pro Max has a much better looking screen than Xperia 5 II, because it has a slightly better 1284 x 2778 pixels resolution, a little bigger display and a just a little more pixels per inch in the screen.
Sony Xperia 5 II has a lot bigger storage for applications and games than Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max, and although they both have exactly the same 128 GB internal memory, the Sony Xperia 5 II also has a slot for external memory cards that allows a maximum of 1000 GB. Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max counts with a more powerful CPU than Xperia 5 II, because although it has an inferior number of cores (but faster) and 2 GB less RAM, it also counts with a 64-bits CPU.
The Xperia 5 II has a little longer battery lifetime than iPhone 12 Pro Max, because it has an 8% larger battery size. The Xperia 5 II captures slightly better pictures and videos than iPhone 12 Pro Max, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not nice for shooting pictures in low-light environments, and they both have a camera with a 12 megapixels and the same (4K) video quality, the Xperia 5 II also counts with faster video frame rates.
Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max is more expensive than the Xperia 5 II, but it's still a great choice, because you can get a better phone for that extra money.
