Comparison review

The Xperia 5 II has a general score of 87.2, which is a bit better than Asus ZenFone 8's 83 general score. The Xperia 5 II construction is somewhat thinner and just a little bit lighter than Asus ZenFone 8, although both of them were only released with a few months difference. The Asus ZenFone 8 counts with a little more vivid screen than Xperia 5 II, although it has a little lower pixel density, a bit worse resolution of 1080 x 2400px and a bit smaller screen.

Xperia 5 II features much more memory to install games and applications than Asus ZenFone 8, and although they both have the same internal storage capacity, the Xperia 5 II also has a SD card slot that allows a maximum of 1000 GB. Sony Xperia 5 II and Asus ZenFone 8 feature incredibly similar CPUs, and although the Asus ZenFone 8 has less RAM, they both have 8 CPU cores.

Asus ZenFone 8 shoots much better photographs and videos than Sony Xperia 5 II, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not favorable for shooting images or video in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same back camera sensor size, the Asus ZenFone 8 also counts with a lot better video quality and a way better 64 megapixels resolution back facing camera.

The Asus ZenFone 8 has a battery performance that's just as good as Sony Xperia 5 II's battery life.
