Both of them have the same number of cores and a 8 GB RAM.
Sony Xperia 5 II counts with just a bit better screen than Huawei Mate X, because although it has a way worse resolution of 1080 x 2520 and a really smaller display, it also counts with a bit better number of pixels in each inch in the screen. The Xperia 5 II features a better camera than Huawei Mate X, because although it has a way less MP back-facing camera, and they both have the same back camera sensor size, the Xperia 5 II also counts with a bigger diafragm aperture to take better photography in low-light environments.
Huawei Mate X features a better storage for games and applications than Xperia 5 II, because although it has no external memory card slot, it also counts with 384 GB more internal memory capacity. Huawei Mate X has a bit better battery lifetime than Xperia 5 II, because it has a 13% bigger battery size.
Although Huawei Mate X is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Xperia 5 II, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xperia 5 II. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Huawei Mate X, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Xperia 5 II, resigning some specs and features.
