Comparison review

The Sony Xperia 5 II has an overall score of 87.2, which is just a bit better than the Huawei P40's general score of 86.4. Even when the Sony Xperia 5 II and Huawei P40 were released with only 6 months difference, the Sony Xperia 5 II is a little thinner and just a little bit lighter. The Xperia 5 II and the Huawei P40 both count with quite similar processors, and although the Huawei P40 has less RAM memory, they both have a Octa-Core CPU.

The Xperia 5 II counts with a little more vivid display than Huawei P40, and although they both have a display of the same size, the Xperia 5 II also has a little greater pixel density and a quite better 1080 x 2520 pixels resolution. Huawei P40 takes better pictures and videos than Xperia 5 II, because although it has worse video frame rates and a tinier aperture, and they both have the same video definition, the Huawei P40 also counts with a back-facing camera with a way higher 50 MP resolution and a much larger sensor providing a way better image quality.

Sony Xperia 5 II has a much bigger storage capacity for games and applications than Huawei P40, and although they both have exactly the same 128 GB internal memory capacity, the Sony Xperia 5 II also has a SD extension slot that admits up to 1000 GB. Sony Xperia 5 II features just a bit longer battery lifetime than Huawei P40, because it has a 4000mAh battery size.

Although Xperia 5 II is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Huawei P40, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Huawei P40. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Xperia 5 II, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Huawei P40, letting go a couple specifications.
