The Sony Xperia 5 II is a little bit better than the LG G7 ThinQ, getting a overall score of 87.2 against 81. The Sony Xperia 5 II is a a little bit heavier phone than the LG G7 ThinQ, but they are equally thin. The LG G7 ThinQ features a more vivid display than Sony Xperia 5 II, and although they both have a same size screen, the LG G7 ThinQ also has a better count of pixels per display inch and a better resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels.

Xperia 5 II features slightly more memory to install games and applications than LG G7 ThinQ, because although it has an external SD slot that allows 1000 GB smaller, it also counts with 128 GB internal memory capacity. Xperia 5 II has a little faster processor than LG G7 ThinQ, and although they both have 8 cores, the Xperia 5 II also has more RAM memory.

The Sony Xperia 5 II has better battery performance than LG G7 ThinQ, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity. The Xperia 5 II captures just a bit better photographs and videos than LG G7 ThinQ, because although it has a back-facing camera with a lot lower 12 MP resolution, a tinier diafragm aperture which is worse for taking photos and/or video in low light environments and a worse (4K) video quality, it also counts with a lot bigger back camera sensor capturing more light and vivid colors.

Although Sony Xperia 5 II is a better device, it is way more expensive than the LG G7 ThinQ, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the LG G7 ThinQ. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Sony Xperia 5 II, else you can save some money and get the LG G7 ThinQ, giving up a couple features and specifications.
