The Xperia 5 II is just a bit better than LG G8 ThinQ, having a global score of 87.2 against 84.3. The Xperia 5 II construction is newer, just a little lighter and a little bit thinner than the LG G8 ThinQ. LG G8 ThinQ's CPU is very similar to the Sony Xperia 5 II one, and although the LG G8 ThinQ has lesser RAM memory, they both have 8 CPU cores.

The LG G8 ThinQ counts with a more vivid display than Xperia 5 II, and although they both have a same size display, the LG G8 ThinQ also has more pixels per inch of display and a higher 1440 x 3120 pixels resolution. The Sony Xperia 5 II features a slightly better camera than LG G8 ThinQ, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not good for low light captures and videos, and they both have a 12 megapixels resolution back-facing camera and the same (4K) video resolution, the Sony Xperia 5 II also counts with faster video frame rates and a much larger sensor shooting much higher quality photographs and videos.

The LG G8 ThinQ has more storage to store more apps and games than Sony Xperia 5 II, and although they both have the same internal memory capacity, the LG G8 ThinQ also has a SD memory slot that supports up to 1,95 TB. Xperia 5 II features a bit better battery lifetime than LG G8 ThinQ, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity instead of 3500mAh.
