The Xperia 5 II has a general score of 87.2, which is much better than the Moto G9 Play's score of 76.7. Although the Xperia 5 II and Moto G9 Play were released with only a couple of months difference, the Xperia 5 II is thinner and somewhat lighter. Sony Xperia 5 II features a bit better processor than Motorola Moto G9 Play, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Sony Xperia 5 II also has a larger amount of RAM memory.

The Xperia 5 II has a much better screen than Moto G9 Play, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with much more pixels per screen inch and a lot better 1080 x 2520 resolution. Xperia 5 II counts with a lot bigger storage for apps and games than Moto G9 Play, because it has an external SD slot that holds a maximum of 1000 GB and 64 GB more internal storage.

The Motorola Moto G9 Play shoots a bit better photographs and videos than Sony Xperia 5 II, because although it has worse 60 frames per second video frame rates, and they both have the same sensor size, a F1.7 camera aperture and the same video resolution, the Motorola Moto G9 Play also counts with a way higher 48 megapixels resolution camera.

The Motorola Moto G9 Play has improved battery duration than Xperia 5 II, because it has a 5000mAh battery size.
