Comparison review

Xperia 5 II is just a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy Note8, with a score of 87.2 against 83. Xperia 5 II is a notably newer phone, and it is also lighter and a bit thinner than Samsung Galaxy Note8. Galaxy Note8 has a bit more vivid screen than Sony Xperia 5 II, because it has a just a bit greater pixels count per inch of display, a higher resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels and a little bigger screen.

Xperia 5 II counts with a lot bigger storage for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Note8, because it has a SD card slot that supports a maximum of 1000 GB and 64 GB more internal memory. The Xperia 5 II has a bit more powerful processing unit than Galaxy Note8, and although they both have 8 processing cores, the Xperia 5 II also has 2 GB more RAM.

The Sony Xperia 5 II has superior battery life than Galaxy Note8, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity instead of 3300mAh. Xperia 5 II has a slightly better camera than Galaxy Note8, and although they both have a F1.7 camera aperture, the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a same resolution camera in the back, the Xperia 5 II also has a way larger back-facing camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors and faster 120 frames per second video frame rate.

Although Xperia 5 II is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Galaxy Note8, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy Note8. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Xperia 5 II, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy Note8, resigning some specifications.
