Xperia 5 II has a global score of 87.2, which is a bit better than the Galaxy S5's 80.8 global score. Although Xperia 5 II is somewhat heavier than Galaxy S5, it's just a bit thinner and also newer. The Sony Xperia 5 II counts with a little better processing power than Samsung Galaxy S5, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processor, it also counts with a greater number of cores and a greater amount of RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 counts with a much better looking display than Xperia 5 II, because although it has a bit lower resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a greater pixel density. Sony Xperia 5 II features just a bit better camera than Galaxy S5, because although it has a worse 3840x2160 (4K) video quality and a back-facing camera with a much worse 12 mega-pixels resolution, it also counts with a way bigger back-facing camera sensor which gives a much better image and video quality and a way bigger diafragm aperture.

The Sony Xperia 5 II has a much greater memory for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy S5, because it has an external SD slot that allows up to 1000 GB and 128 GB internal memory capacity. Xperia 5 II counts with a superior battery lifetime than Galaxy S5, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity instead of 2800mAh.

Although Sony Xperia 5 II is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Samsung Galaxy S5, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Samsung Galaxy S5. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Sony Xperia 5 II, else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy S5, giving up a couple specs and features.
