Xperia 5 II has a general score of 87.2, which is a bit better than the Galaxy S7's 79.5 global score. The Xperia 5 II design has the same thickness than Galaxy S7, but it's a little bit heavier. The Galaxy S7 has a sharper screen than Xperia 5 II, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a slightly higher 1440 x 2560 resolution and a better screen pixel density.
The Xperia 5 II has a way bigger storage for games and applications than Galaxy S7, because it has 128 GB internal storage capacity and a slot for an external memory card that admits a maximum of 1000 GB. The Xperia 5 II counts with a little faster processing unit than Samsung Galaxy S7, because it has more RAM memory and a larger number of faster cores.
The Xperia 5 II has just a bit better camera than Galaxy S7, and although they both have a same resolution back camera, a same size diafragm aperture and the same video quality, the Xperia 5 II also has a much larger sensor capturing more light and vivid colors and better video frame rates. Sony Xperia 5 II features better battery duration than Galaxy S7, because it has a 4000mAh battery size.
Although Sony Xperia 5 II is a better device, it is way more expensive than Samsung Galaxy S7, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Samsung Galaxy S7. So if you want that extra features, you can buy Sony Xperia 5 II, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy S7, giving up a couple specifications.
