The Xperia 5 II is just a bit better than Samsung Galaxy S9, having a general score of 87.2 against 83.3. The Xperia 5 II is a a little thinner phone than the Samsung Galaxy S9, but both weight 5.75oz. The Xperia 5 II has a little faster CPU than Samsung Galaxy S9, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia 5 II also has 4 GB more RAM memory.

Samsung Galaxy S9 has a bit more vivid screen than Xperia 5 II, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with more pixels per screen inch and a better resolution of 1440 x 2960px. The Xperia 5 II counts with a much bigger storage for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy S9, because it has 128 GB internal memory capacity and an external memory slot that supports a maximum of 1000 GB.

Xperia 5 II counts with better battery duration than Galaxy S9, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity instead of 3000mAh. The Xperia 5 II features a little bit better camera than Galaxy S9, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not recommended for capturing images and/or video in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition and a same resolution camera, the Xperia 5 II also counts with higher 120 frames per second video frame rates and a lot bigger sensor.

Although Xperia 5 II is a better device, it costs a lot more than Samsung Galaxy S9, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Samsung Galaxy S9. If you prefer to save some money, you can get the Samsung Galaxy S9, giving up a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
