Comparison review

Sony Xperia 5 II has a score of 87.2, which is much better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S's general score of 79. Although the Sony Xperia 5 II and Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S were only released with a couple months difference, the Sony Xperia 5 II is notably lighter and thinner. Sony Xperia 5 II features just a bit better screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a bit greater pixel density and a quite better resolution of 1080 x 2520px.

The Xperia 5 II counts with a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the Xperia 5 II also has a greater amount of RAM. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S has a slightly better camera than Xperia 5 II, because although it has a smaller sensor offering a worse image quality, a tinier diafragm aperture which is not favorable for capturing images or videos in low light environments and lower 30 fps video frame rates, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S also counts with a much better 48 MP resolution back camera.

Xperia 5 II has a lot bigger storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, because it has 128 GB internal storage and a SD memory card expansion slot that admits up to 1000 GB. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S features superior battery lifetime than Xperia 5 II, because it has a 5020mAh battery size.

Although Sony Xperia 5 II is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Sony Xperia 5 II, else you can save some dollars and get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, giving up some features and specifications.
