The LG Velvet has a global score of 87.1, which is much better than Xperia L4's 71.8 overall score. The LG Velvet construction is just a bit heavier but a little bit thinner than the Xperia L4, and they were released only a couple months apart. The LG Velvet has a bit more vivid screen than Xperia L4, because it has a higher pixel number per inch of screen, a bit larger display and a way better resolution of 1080 x 2460px.
