The Galaxy M30 is better than Xperia L4, with a score of 82.4 against 71.8. Galaxy M30 is an older phone than Xperia L4, but it is a little bit thinner and just a bit lighter anyway. Both devices in this review work with the same Android 9.0 Pie OS, so both of them should give the same operating system features.
The Samsung Galaxy M30 counts with a bit better display than Xperia L4, because it has a lot higher resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels, a greater screen pixel density and a bit larger display. Galaxy M30 has a lot bigger memory capacity to install applications and games than Xperia L4, and although they both have a SD memory slot that allows up to 512 GB, the Galaxy M30 also has 128 GB internal memory.
The Xperia L4 has a little bit better hardware performance than Galaxy M30, although it has lesser RAM memory, they both have 8 cpu cores. Galaxy M30 takes much clearer pictures and videos than Xperia L4, because although it has a tinier sensor capturing less light and dull colors, and they both have the same resolution back-facing camera, the same 1920x1080 video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Galaxy M30 also counts with a larger aperture.
Galaxy M30 has a very superior battery performance than Sony Xperia L4, because it has 5000mAh of battery capacity.
