Comparison review
The Galaxy A5 (2017) has a general score of 75.8, which is just a bit better than the Xperia X Compact's score of 71.8. Although Galaxy A5 (2017) and Xperia X Compact were only released with a couple of months difference, the Galaxy A5 (2017) design is somewhat heavier but somewhat thinner than Xperia X Compact.
Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) features a little better processing power than Xperia X Compact, and although they both have a 3 GB RAM, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) also has a greater number of cores (and faster). Galaxy A5 (2017) has a bit sharper display than Sony Xperia X Compact, because it has a bit bigger display, a greater number of pixels per inch of screen and a much better resolution of 1080 x 1920px.
Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) features as much memory capacity for apps and games as the Xperia X Compact, both have a SD extension slot that holds a maximum of 256 GB and exactly the same 32 GB internal memory. Galaxy A5 (2017) has a bit better battery life than Xperia X Compact, because it has a 3000mAh battery size.
The Sony Xperia X Compact shoots clearer pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017), because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not favorable for low-light images and video, and they both have the same 1920x1080 video quality, the Sony Xperia X Compact also counts with better 60 fps video frame rates and a lot more mega-pixels camera in the back.
